Last Updated March 2023

The goal of the database is to provide state and territory information in a concise, digestible way that allows people from all backgrounds to view what is happening in the area of brain injury and criminal legal system involvement. The database will be updated as information continues to come in from states. Read the author’s note.

Find your state or territory

These entries are based published reports and studies. Where states do not have reports, individuals were interviewed and asked about their state’s work.

If your state is listed here with information that needs to be edited, please submit a request for us to make the correction.

If your state has had work from the past or has current or future plans please submit the information via our ‘Additional Resources Available, Submit Request‘ OR on our database home page at the bottom of the page.

Some state entries will not have links to the reports as they were acquired through online research journals. Please submit a resource request and we will provide the document.

You can search your population based on population type: Juvenile Justice, Adult Men, Adult Women, Adult Corrections, Segregation Units, Law Enforcement, CIT, Public Education, Veterans, Domestic Violence, Mental Health Court, Problem Solving Courts
