NC District 11 will now be represented in Congress by Madison Cawthorn, a wheelchair user. DRNC plans to reach out to Mr. Cawthorn and his office to address our concerns regarding divisive language he used during his campaign, and discuss issues of importance to the disability community. With the election over, we hope he will take an inclusive approach to policies that matter to people with disabilities and people of color in NC-11, and across the state. We invite Mr. Cawthorn to meet with us and other disability advocates to learn more about issues that affect disabled people, including access to healthcare, housing, education, employment and other basic rights.
