GASTONIA, NC — Disability Rights North Carolina and Gaston County Public Health are proud to announce
the 3rd annual “Walk and Roll Together, Gaston / Caminemos y Rodemos Juntos, Gaston.”

The event will be held at the Rotary Centennial Pavilion in downtown Gastonia on Sat., Sept. 14, from 9am-1pm.

This free, inclusive gathering seeks to inspire, inform, empower, and provide essential resources and services
to the community, with a particular focus on the Latino and Haitian communities. The event provides an
accessible space where people can celebrate their cultures with pride and children can see and experience
what cultural pride is. We welcome all community members to join us, connect with local organizations,
businesses, and service providers, and revel in the diverse cultural landscape that defines Gaston County.
Last year, the event successfully drew participation from over 750 individuals and over 50 organizations.
The day kicks off at 9 am, and the fully accessible 2K walk and cultural celebration begins at 10 a.m. Following
the walk, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment, including a DJ, at the Rotary Centennial
Pavilion, located at 107 N. South St., Gastonia, NC 28052. The event will also feature food, music, raffles, and
a range of civic and nonprofit organizations providing information on community resources, including free
health checks.

New this year, the event will include a traditional cultural dress context with a great prize for the winner.
Participants are encouraged to showcase their heritage through their attire.

Gaston / Walk and Roll Together, Gaston”. El evento tendrá lugar en el Rotary Pavilion en el centro de
Gastonia el sábado, 14 de septiembre, de 9 a.m. a 1 p.m.
Este evento gratuito e inclusivo busca inspirar, empoderar y ofrecer recursos y servicios valiosos a la
comunidad, con un enfoque particular en las comunidades latina y haitiana. El evento ofrece un espacio
accesible donde las personas pueden celebrar sus culturas con orgullo y los niños pueden ver y experimentar
lo que significa el orgullo cultural. Invitamos a todos los miembros de la comunidad a unirse a nosotros,
conectarse con organizaciones locales, negocios y proveedores de servicios, y disfrutar del diverso paisaje
cultural que define al condado de Gaston. El año pasado, el evento contó con la participación de más de 750
personas y más de 50 organizaciones.

El día comenzará a las 9 a.m., y la caminata de 2 km totalmente accesible y la celebración caminata cultural
comenzará a las 10 a.m. Después de la caminata, los asistentes podrán disfrutar de una variedad de
actividades y entretenimiento, que incluyen un DJ, en el Rotary Centennial Pavilion, ubicado en 107 N. South
St., Gastonia, NC 28052. El evento también contará con comida, música, rifas y una variedad de
organizaciones cívicas y sin fines de lucro que ofrecerán información sobre recursos comunitarios, incluyendo
exámenes de salud gratuitos.

Este año, el evento incluirá un concurso de vestimenta cultural tradicional con un gran premio para el ganador.
Se alienta a los participantes a mostrar su herencia a través de su vestimenta.
