Tim Sookram

Attorney

Tim joined Disability Rights in March 2024 as a Staff Attorney focusing on Medicaid-related issues. His work is dedicated to helping people with disabilities obtain health benefits and access specialty programs.

Tim earned his law degree from UNC Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining DRNC, he worked at Legal Aid of North Carolina, Prisoner Legal Services, and the National Health Law Program, advocating for marginalized communities.

Driven by a commitment to justice, Tim is passionate about reducing the needless suffering caused by inequality. When he’s not working, he enjoys leaving the house and talking to babies!
