Lisa Nesbitt supervises the HOME Team, working on both Medicaid and Fair Housing issues for people with disabilities. In addition to overseeing that team, she helps children and adults obtain necessary medical services, including mental health and developmental disabilities services so her clients can live in the communities of their choice. She also works on Fair Housing issues, including preventing evictions due to an individual’s disabilities as well as obtaining reasonable accommodations so that people with disabilities can use and enjoy their homes just as those without disabilities.
Nesbitt received her bachelor’s degree from Cook College at Rutgers University and her law degree from George Washington University. She practiced law with several private firms in Washington and New Jersey before taking time off to raise three children. In her off time, Nesbitt enjoys camping, kayaking and biking. Nesbitt joined DRNC in 2012.
