Joy C. Belk

(Central Region)


Joy C. Belk is a North Carolina certified paralegal and currently serves as the managing director of paralegal certification for the North Carolina State Bar. She is also the owner of Belk Business Solutions, LLC, where she offers freelance paralegal and program management services to nonprofit organizations.

Joy holds a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University and a master’s degree from Liberty University. She also earned a post-baccalaureate paralegal certificate from Meredith College and a master’s certificate from Grand Canyon University.

An active contributor to the legal and educational communities, Joy serves on advisory boards for several community colleges across North Carolina and is a frequent guest speaker for both local and national paralegal associations. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Joy’s passion for disability rights is rooted in her lived experience as a caregiver to her spouse, who sustained a traumatic brain injury, and as an advocate for her son and other families navigating the challenges of securing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). These experiences have given her a deep understanding of the systemic barriers faced by individuals with disabilities and drive her ongoing commitment to building a more inclusive and society.
