Jolona Kinlaw joined Disability Rights North Carolina in August of 2022 as an Advocate on the Education Team. She holds a bachelors in Psychology from East Carolina University and a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Jolona is a dually licensed counselor in mental health and substance use and has over 10 years experience in the mental health field working with multiple populations in a variety of clinical settings. Her advocacy journey originated at the Autism Society of NC and as a mother of a son with Autism.  His journey is why she advocates on behalf of children with disabilities, their families, and communities. Jolona is a wife and mother of two. She loves her faith, being outside and spending time with her loved ones.
