Brittany Ellis joined the Disability Rights North Carolina Board of Directors in March 2026.

Brittany is an I/DD peer support specialist with Johnston County Industries and also serves as a consultant with Centered Resources LLC. She has a strong commitment to disability advocacy, leadership development, and peer support.

In 2021, Brittany was part of the inaugural cohort of the I/DD Peer Mentoring Training program and successfully completed the program. She became a National Inclusion Project inclusive recreation specialist in 2023 and, in 2024, graduated from The Ability Leadership Program (ALP). From 2022 to 2025, Brittany worked as a contracted employee with Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD), where she also served on both the SPARK committee and the steering committee.

Brittany is passionate about self-determination and believes that people with disabilities should have the opportunity to make choices about their own lives and futures. She looks forward to bringing both her professional expertise and lived experience to her role on the DRNC board of directors.
