To evaluate and offer services for youth with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The primary investigator, Dr. Christina Dillahunt-Aspillaga states the: “The goal of creating TBI-focused services is to provide specialized treatment to reduce a youth’s likelihood to reoffend.”

When is screening done?
Participants will include 13- through 22-year-old men and boys. Individuals will be selected from among hundreds of individuals screened for moderate and severe TBI as they are admitted to the juvenile facilities.

Tracking
Researcher-clinicians will track the health of those diagnosed with such injuries from their entry through their release from juvenile facilities, when they will be linked with community-based clinicians who specialize in brain injury treatment.
