Tara Muller

Policy Attorney

Tara Muller joined DRNC’s Community Inclusion Team in May 2020 and transitioned to the Policy Team in 2021. As a policy attorney, she works to protect the constitutional rights of people with mental and physical disabilities. She monitors proposed and existing laws and rules, focusing on areas vulnerable to civil rights violations, such as healthcare, education, criminal justice, and community inclusion. Muller uses a collaborative approach when working with lawmakers and stakeholders.

Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Muller received her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and her law degree from Campbell University. For nearly 20 years before joining DRNC, she was a private practice litigator, representing both businesses and individuals in appellate and workers’ compensation matters.
