Annalise von Sprecken joined Disability Rights North Carolina in August 2025 as a Macro Social Work Intern from UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work. She is working with the Education Rights team and hopes to also support the criminal legal team during her internship.
Her background includes work across the disability field as a summer camp counselor, direct support professional, and academic support provider during COVID. She has also held fellowships and internships with Reality Ministries, Haywood Street Congregation, and Pastors for North Carolina Children, and currently serves on the board of L’Arche NC. Annalise holds a bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics with a minor in teaching and learning from Elon University, and a Master of Theological Studies with a certificate in Prison Studies from Duke Divinity School.
Annalise’s passion for Disability Justice comes from her lifelong friendships with individuals with disabilities and her belief that meaningful inclusion creates stronger communities for all. She lives in Cary with her family and enjoys reading, thrifting, and watching NASCAR with her fiancé.
