Provide support to Iowans, with brain injury, involved in the child welfare system by providing Resource Facilitation services and supports to keep families intact so as to prevent out of home placements and termination of parental rights. Information and Referrals
BIA-IA will provide consultation and technical assistance to the solution focused team and continue with Resource Facilitation
Referrals for case management can also be done. (Richardson, Quan, & Schueller, 2021)
Trainings
BIA-IA will provide training to Department of Health Services (DHS) and other solution focused staff on the following topics: brain injury 101, brain injury accommodations and/or compensatory strategies, and provide an overview of the Iowa’s lifetime history of brain injury screening tool and the Mayo Portland Adaptability 4 Assessment (MPAI-4).
