Program Overview

Renew NC is a program that helps people in North Carolina fix or rebuild their homes after big storms. It also helps communities get ready for future storms.

The Renew NC Single-Family Housing Program helps families who lost or had damage to their homes during Hurricane Helene. It gives extra help to families with less money, older adults (age 62 and up), children, or family members with disabilities.

The program is for people in 29 counties, including Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg (28214), Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Surry, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, Yadkin and Yancey.

Renew NC is run by the North Carolina Department of Commerce. The money for this program comes from the U.S. government.
