On March 27, 2020, DRNC CEO Virginia Knowlton Marcus sent a letter to Secretary Mandy Cohen as part of our current efforts to make sure that any medical care rationing policies adopted by the state of North Carolina value the lives of people with disabilities. Our staff has been able to review and discuss these policies with the state Advisory group. We continue to follow this issue closely.
DRNC Letter COVID-19 Scarce Resource Protocol

On April 3, 2020, CEO Virginia Knowlton Marcus sent a followup letter, after the Scarce Resource Allocation Steering Committee proposed a new protocol. The letter expresses concerns about some of the language in the protocol that potentially puts people with disabilities at risk of discrimination and asks the Secretary to consider taking that language out.
