DESCRIPTION:What is the caravan?\nRaleigh\, Durham\, Hillsborough\, Charlotte \nThe Caravan for Disability Freedom and Justice is a collective of people with disabilities\, and our allies\, who have been driving across America\, visiting a number of cities including many that are important to our disability rights movement\, to illustrate how far we’ve come in our fight for inclusion and freedom\, and how much more must happen. Join DRNC in welcoming them to North Carolina! These are great opportunities to learn about disability rights and build the disability community. \nIn addition to highlighting disability movement history and the Olmstead anniversary\, the caravan stops are an opportunity to mobilize voters with disabilities and remove barriers to the polls. The caravan will be stopping in NC while Americans with disabilities are marking the 25th anniversary of the Olmstead decision and escalating our demands that the ruling’s “integration mandate” be fully implemented. \nOn Tuesday morning\, in Raleigh Jonathan D’Angelo will be speaking. Jonathan is the Vice Chair of the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities and a Market Specialist for an Atlanta based Employee Benefits Brokerage. In addition\, he holds a Masters in International Security Studies and a Bachelor in Political Science from East Carolina. He utilizes CAP DA and is one of the 17\,500 on the Innovations waiting list. \nThere are four tour stops from Tuesday\, June 25-Thursday\, June 27.
